Planning Workshop

St. Louis, MO (July 5, 2004) David Hosking, President of Kinetic
Solutions, recently attended the Mock Prison Riot in Moundsville, West
Virginia, to demonstrate SCOUT™, the company’s Incident Command System for
tactical response teams. The event is a
gathering of corrections officers and tactical teams that allow them to use and
evaluate the new technologies, giving Kinetic Solutions valuable feedback on
SCOUT™. The Office of Law Enforcement
Technology Commercialization (OLETC), a division of the National Institute of
Justice (NIJ), coordinates this annual event.
After the Mock Prison Riot, OLETC cordially invited
David Hosking to attend one of the organization’s Commercialization Planning
Workshops in Charlotte, North Carolina from June 14th to the 18th. These weeklong workshops are designed for
entrepreneurs and technology innovators aspiring to commercialize a product, or
establish a business within the public safety market. David Hosking attended a number of seminars and lectures in
Charlotte, giving him beneficial tools and knowledge to take properly take
SCOUT™ to the marketplace.
The speakers and presenters included OLETC staff
professionals and other industry professionals within technology acquisition
and innovation, research and development, licensing, and the planning and
marketing involved with product commercialization.
David Hosking was
honored and privileged to attend OLETC's Commercialization
Planning Workshop, and says that the workshop was “a mini-MBA program comprising five days of hard
work that resulted in a solid commercialization plan for our new technology.”
SCOUT™
is a GIS-based software tool that enables a tactical commander to preview a
building's interior prior to a tactical rescue or response mission, and to then
guide each tactical team within the building.
SCOUT is ideal for pre-mission planning for incident response, VIP
protection, and for post-mission evaluation and training.
