GIS Sofware Customization

Kinetic Solutions has a contract with the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia, to convert the military's Integrated 2D map viewer into a GIS feature map using ESRI ArcGIS software..

Fort Benning will be providing GIS layers including, roads and highways, elevations, digitized raster images, and building floor plans to be integrated into the Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) system Fort Benning utilizes for training exercises.

As part of this multiple phase project, the company has been asked to customize Fort Benning's IT Map to support the functionality currently available with the Land Navigation System.  This system is designed for use by soldiers out in the field conducting military training operations. Customization will include the ability to track soldiers through the use of GPS technology, the addition of symbology to the MOUT system, digitized hazards and waypoints, and the communication between the GIS systems located at the command post and portable devices carried by units during military urban terrain training operations.  As an added benefit to the Fort Benning MOUT operations, Kinetic Solutions will be developing an ArcPad application for ten Pocket PC's
