Kinetic Solutions adds custom modules to SafeCity™ crime analysis website

St. Louis, MO (May 19, 2003) Kinetic Solutions has been awarded a contract by the City of St. Louis Neighborhood Stabilization Team to develop a custom reporting module for the award-winning SafeCity™ crime mapping and analysis website. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's SafeCity™ geographic information system is a publicly accessible web-based application developed and hosted by Kinetic Solutions. The Neighborhood Stabilization Team will be accessing SafeCity™ data through automated reporting routines that will alert them to situations that require more intense monitoring.

Additional feature classes and functionality will be added to SafeCity™ that will be available only to city and law enforcement officials. When crime incidences for individual addresses exceed preset thresholds, the Neighborhood Stabilization Team will be automatically alerted and the police department will be able to take corrective measures.

This project will assist the Neighborhood Stabilization Team and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) to more effectively implement their Gang Abatement and Weed & Seed programs. As well, it will provide the necessary information for the City and the SLMPD to more effectively and precisely target their efforts in the 12 St. Louis neighborhoods in which over 47% of all violent crimes are committed.
