the NOCARO™ software toolset from Oracon Corporation, our application
developers convert source databases of mission-critical legacy
data to any target DBMS environment. Our methodology eliminates
the need for the traditional script approach to conversion and
automatically documents the data transformation.
NOCARO provides an easy-to-use application
interface to define the intermediate Oracle table and identify
the source file. NOCARO simplifies verification by allowing users
to define error codes and the rules associated with those error
codes, in any language. NOCARO provides facilities for the development
of user functions, variables, transformations and lookups while
maintaining the constraints on the target system. NOCARO includes
a push button interface for migrating selected data from the conversion
target model to the production target model.

The NOCARO approach to database conversion is based on a four-step process:

Step 1 - Extraction
Move the data from an outside environment into NOCARO conversion
environment. No records are modified or rejected during this step.

Step 2 - Verification
Identify impurities within the source data. Records that do not
pass verification are flagged and prevented from entering the
transformation segment of the process

Step 3 - Transformation
Conduct a structured movement of the data from the source model
into a target model while maintaining the integrity of the target
model.

Step 4 - Migration We then move the data from
the NOCARO conversion environment into the production or target
environment. The NOCARO toolset and methodology has been highly
successful on many large-scale conversion projects.
