National Fiber Inventory Data Conversion, Data Visualization, and Data Distribution

As the largest fiber conversion project in the USA, the scope of work for this project covered a 13-state region with almost 3,100 Wire Centers and 69 Planning and Design Centers. This constitutes a mapped area of 35% of the continental United States. Kinetic Solutions mapped all fiber optic lines through their client's entire thirteen state coverage area. In addition to the map creation, the client requested that Kinetic Solutions demonstrate methods of viewing and querying the data by using web browser tools throughout their organization.

This project allowed the client to view capacity levels of these fiber lines to assure compliance with various internal and external (Federal) requirements. The client recognized that by using Kinetic Solutions as part of their solution, they could save considerable time and money compared to doing this project internally.

The nature of this project was to provide the client with the map data necessary to identify capacity of their fiber lines. Early on, the client also recognized the need for technical and marketing staff to access, query and view these maps and their associated data files. Kinetic Solutions designed
